Lyon Part-Dieu Gare
Originally opened in 1859 as a freight station,[2] the station was constructed in 1978 as part of the new Part-Dieu urban neighborhood project. As the planners intended Part-Dieu to act as a second city center for Lyon, the large train station was built in conjunction with a shopping center (the largest in France), a major government office complex, and the tallest skyscraper in the region, nicknamed Le Crayon (The Pencil) due to its shape. Before the construction of the Gare de la Part-Dieu, the neighborhood was served by the Gare des Brotteaux. It closed in 1982 and its operations were absorbed into this station.
In spring 2018, major reconstruction and refurbishment works began to rebuild the entire station and its near surroundings by 2022.[3] As of December 2018, the former entrance building has been already partly torn down. Eurobandas S.A. took part in the project by supplying +4000m2 Blanco Alba granite cut to size in 40mm thickness.
Non-slip and with a shotblasted finish, granite is ideal for pool settings. It’s elegant and works very well with contemporary architecture. It’s one of the densest natural stones which is why it’s so popular as a pool paver. In this project, our client chose one of the lightest white available granites: ZAMBEZIA.
We are pleased to announce our participation in the major renovation and expansion project of the Architect Marcide Public Hospital in Ferrol, completed in 2023. This project represents a significant milestone in public healthcare for the region, and Eurobandas is proud to have contributed to the comfort and aesthetic appeal of the space with our high-quality materials.
For this project, we supplied two of our most distinguished granite varieties: Blanco Micaela and Mondariz. The selection of these granites was based not only on aesthetic criteria but also on their durability and resistance—essential qualities in a demanding hospital environment.
Blanco Micaela, with its white base and sparkling gray mica veins, brings brightness and a touch of elegance to the spaces, creating a modern and welcoming atmosphere for both patients and healthcare professionals. Meanwhile, Mondariz, with its warm tone and soft texture, offers a perfect balance that adds warmth and a natural ambiance, ideal for enhancing the experience of those who visit the hospital daily.
This project once again demonstrates Eurobandas' commitment to excellence in every phase, from material selection to delivery and installation. With our granite, Architect Marcide Hospital not only gains visual quality but also durability and sustainability, ensuring that these spaces will remain in optimal condition for many years.
We appreciate the trust placed in Eurobandas for this ambitious project and reaffirm our commitment to continue providing high-quality solutions for important architectural projects in the future.
